Description: There is a little bit of something for everyone at the Lumberyard Shops.
We had lunch from Hudson & Hudson. This is a specialty food market. The daily specials offered a burger but they had already sold out by the time we arrived. I had the house salad with their chicken salad. It was chunky and had walnuts and grapes in it. The salad itself had a creamy balsamic dressing with roasted red peppers, artichokes, grape tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, peppers, scallions and cabbage. Al had the house salad with Moroccan grilled chicken. We were in a bit of a rush so I didn’t have time to really peruse all the wonderful racks of gourmet items that were offered but I did notice some unique marinades and dressings. I can’t wait to go back.
7th Street Coffee Shop- to go with our salads I ran into this upscale coffee shop to grab some iced coffee and check out the desserts. I got a very nice hazelnut iced coffee and resisted all the delicious looking coffee cakes and cookies.
Lumberyard Gallery This is a multi-dealer antique store on the upper lever of the shops and offers some interesting items for sale. There were several dealers who deal in books and prints as well as the usual small that these type of shops offer.
Lumberyard Antiques At first glance, I wasn’t sure if this was a part of the lumberyard gallery or a separate antique shop but it is separate. There is a greater variety of offerings here including some furniture.
Hometowne Pet Supply Fall 2007 This is a well stocked local pet store. We stopped in to get new collars and leashes for Beau, Brie and Honey. Our dogs got a lot of attention both from the girls behind the counter and the other customers. They have a very nice selection, better than Petco and more pretty girl choices if I have to say so myself. Beau of course likes the manly types.
Luxe One of the newer shops in the fall of 2007 this is a great place to find something a little unique in a bath and body product. Some of the items are handmade by the owner and though there were a few familiar items most were things I had never seen before. Lucious body creams and bath soaks, olive oil soap and lots more.
There is a day spa and several other businesses that I didn’t have time to visit.
