Once we got through town, parked, and found our way to the markets, it was incredible. Everywhere you turned, there were shops ready to make you a deal "only for you, my friend." There are incredible deals to be had and a variety of crafts to take home with you. Just make sure it is all going to fit into your luggage.
Nobody is really in a hurry to go anywhere here in this sleepy little village. It allows you time you relax and just enjoy the gorgeous surroundings. The streets are narrow and there are way too many cars trying to plow through the streets. You are much better off parking the car in the Commercial Center in the center of town and walking everywhere you need to go. Allow plenty of time to see the old churches.
There is also a cable car here in Taxco that takes you to the top of the city to enjoy the beautiful views (very cheap!).

We had lunch high on the hill in the town - which overlooked the beautiful church in the middle of the city, and then all the other buildings in the town. It was really nice.
Bring sneakers to the city if you are going to go. I didn't realize that it was so steep and I brought sandels that didn't have much traction and struggled to go up and down the hills.
