If you're looking for something fun and different to do, try taking a free archery lesson with the Woodley Park Archers. They offer free use of their equipment and range on Wednesday nights 6 - 8pm and Saturday mornings from 10am until noon. During these types, professional/expert archers volunteer to teach anyone, at any age and experience level, the proper way to use a bow and arrow and basic etiquette rules for the range. They simply ask that you follow these rules so that no one gets injured. The amateur range is small, but adequate enough if you're just learning. If you join the Woodley Archers, you receive a newsletter and discounts on archery equipment at participating stores, as well as a discount on registration fees if you decide to compete in one of their tournaments. If you have your own equipment, feel free to use their range any time from sunup to sundown seven days a week. The range is free of fees to all, but there is a red donation box if you wish to drop in a dollar or two. For more info, go to: Woodley Park Archers
