Coast Guard Academy

My first stop was the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, located on the Thames River in New London, CT. The US Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) is the smallest of the nation's service academies. It's something to do to kill time, but it is not all that exciting and is an extremely small campus versus the other service academies. The visitor center is no longer open, but the pavilion where it was once housed offers a scenic view of the Thames River.

 

If you're into small-college football, this looks like a great place to watch a game. You can't miss the stadium and you'll have a feel of being in the action.
