Between 1963 and 1967 volcano watchers and experts around the world were amazed to find a new island growing out of the Northern Atlantic ocean off the coast of Iceland. We approached it on the M.V. Explorer at the range permitted by the scientists. No one other than scientific personel are allow to set foot on the island. All experts have been amazed to see how quickly plant life has been established on this island. We could see that the top, which is rather flat, was very green. Birds brought seeds to the new island. We could see many sorts of birds. It was an incredible thing to do.
