Bon Secour Wildlife Preserve

The Bon Secour Wildlife Preserve covers about five acres of gulf front, natural dunes, and backwater lagoons to explore. You have a choice of two nature hikes and are provided with maps to explore on your own. It is a wonderful preserve that offers sanctuary to birds, turtles, beach mice, gators, and other species who call the area home.

Beginning in May through summer "turtle watch" groups set up on the beach to protect the sea turtles who build their nests on the beach. Our daughter's favorite was wading/watching the sting rays in the lagoon.
