Driving along the castle trail, we noticed that our map was marked with various stone circles and historic sights. We stopped at a few of these, including Loanhead. This stone circle (4000-4500 years old) is located just off of a local road, among a campsite. There is no admission charge. Information about the circles and the area is given on a plaque near the site.
