Dy Proeung has sculpted complete scaled replicas of Angkor Wat, the Bayon, and Banteay Srei amongst others. They were finished many years ago and are starting to look a bit worse for wear but are still really quite amazing. He still receives many commissions and is happy to show you his latest creation. When we were there, it was an incredibly large Buddha for a local temple. He also loves to show off his album from his younger days, when he was received by the King of Cambodia and received many awards for his services. He is such a lovely old man, really sweet and so happy to receive visitors, so if you have the time, pay him a visit. Entry is about $1.50, and you will probably have to buy one of his mini sculptures. When these are only $1 to $2 each, depending on the size, how could you say no? When we picked out the one that we wanted, he signed the back of it with a flourish and a smile. For a couple of bucks, it is worth it just for the pleasure of his company.
