The botanical garden is a nice place for a picnic or an afternoon stroll. Many times, you will see college students studying on the park benches amongst the beautiful setting. Often, you will also see brides having weddings portraits made here. There is also a unique collection of modern art dispersed throughout the garden. One piece, in particular, looks like a large hut, made entirely from vines and twigs. The entrance to the garden is marked by an old red caboose and a memorial plaza with displays about Clemson's days as a military college(1889 through the early 1960's). There is ample parking at the botanical gardens. I would advise parking here, visiting the gardens, and catching the shuttle over to the main part of campus to see everything else.
