There's more to do further down the mountain. Step into the Haunted House, if you dare. Each turn takes you through this house of frights and screams. Guntown Mountain also has some of the most popular carnival rides and games ever invented. Try the 60 foot ferris wheel from which you can enjoy the spectacular view of the valley below.
Gundown Mountain also has Onyx Cave. Guided tours are about 30 minutes long, with few steps. The Cave is a cool, comfortable 60 degree temperature, year-round. Beautiful onyx formations can be seen throughout. Tours of Onyx Cave are not strenuous and may be enjoyed by young and old alike, but unfortunately they are not handicapped accessible. Cave tours start often (on demand) and are conducted by very efficient, knowledgeable guides.
An all-day pass makes everything at Guntown Mountain available at a great price. Be sure to visit Smith's Country Store. The Smith's Country Store has been a legend in the Mammoth Cave area since 1906. The colorful, folksy store sells delicious Kentucky cured country hams, bacon, and the area's famous smoked sausage. Also available is a wide variety of delightful homemade jams, jellies, and relishes. Visitors can shop from a large selection of gifts and many beautifully handcrafted items.
