Cimarron Golf Resot

This is an excellent public golf facility. Cimarron offers a choice of playing an 18-hole championship length course, or an equally stunning 18-hole executive length course. We did not play the executive course. The 18-hole course winds around a large flood wash. Balls hit out of the fairway can wind up in this wash, making for sand bunker-like shots. Be careful on hole number one. If you are a long driver your first shot can end up in the wash, which is not visible from the tee. There is also a golf school, the Dave Pelz Scoring Game School. We did not use this facility. If you would like more information about the Pelz Golf School at Cimarron Golf Club you can call (800)833-7370. www.cimarrongolf.com.

The long course is open and of moderate difficulty; it's quite pleasant. The executive course is difficult because there are washes between the tees and greens, so you have to land on the green or you're in trouble. The courses are new and lack trees and other vegetation, and the portable washrooms leave a bit to be desired.
