BACKGROUND INFO
: This curiosity shop is a true reflection of its' owner, Rosemarie Pfeiffer(see photo). She worked as a geriatric nurse for 36 years before opening Secondhand Rose two years ago. It's on Main Street in the hub of downtown Dennisport and easy to find. Another added dimension to this remarkable lady is that she is an artist. She didn't start painting till she turned 52. Her mentor, a former patient, owned the art gallery on Main Street and Rose would visit with him to allow his wife some respite. She watched him paint for hours at a time and he encouraged her to start painting. When he died, he left her all his canvasses, brushes, art books, etc. Since then, she has achieved the status of juried artist in acrylics and oils. Some of the merchandise is consigned pieces from elderly locals. Rosemarie helps them out by accepting most of these consignments in the spring, when taxes are due and they need supplemental income.
