GHOST TOUR

We met up at the monument after dark to start our tour. We walked the perimeters of the Alamo and learned of where the bodies were burned and places where ghost sightings were frequent. The hotel Emily Morgan (named after the "working girl" who distracted Santa Ana during the battle of San Jacinto) was once a hospital, and floors 8 and 14 are deemed to be haunted, as well as the basement. Other haunted places were the Mengor Hotel, where the founder of the King Ranch died and laid in state for 3 weeks, and the Alamo, where a specter in long black coat walks past even in the Texas summer, and much more. The guide gave us demonstrations of ghost-hunting equipment and detectors. Very historical and a different slant for those who like to dabble in the unknown.
