Not my idea of a family cruise!

The best part of the trip was Ensenada, we saw the ballet folklorico which was good and the shopping was typical for the area. Catalina was pricey and we arrived in San Diego on July 4th, so we were unable to get into Coronado due to traffic/parades and many of the shops were closed. The food on the ship was mediocre. Entertainment was standard, but the "disco" was offensive. More of a trip for 18 to 25 year olds without any morals.

The cruise was to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. The staff was friendly, but not quite as attentive as other cruises I have been on. Ensenada has grown since the last time I was there about 10 years ago. We saw the Ballet Folklorico there which was very entertaining. Shopped for bargains in town. Catalina was expensive for shopping and the weather was rainey although it was July. Unfortunately we got to San Diego on the 4th, so it was impossible to get into Coronado and many of the shops in La Jolla were closed. I would rate the food onboard as mediocre. The nightlife in the disco was pretty much X-rated. This seemed more geared toward those in the 18-25 crowd. Not something I would do again.
