On a drive from Fargo to Bismarck, I had to stop and see the famous White Buffalo. Her name is White Cloud. She was born in 1996 and it was a really big deal because albino buffalos are extremely rare. For the Native American tribes, it was a sign of great changes in the world. Some think of it as a blessing and others believe it is a sign of peace, prosperity, unity and hope.

Well, she was hiding among the trees the day I was there, but I bought a picture of her and tell her story to a lot of people when I tell them I travel to North Dakota. Locals tell me it took a while for the herd to accept her, but eventually she roamed the prairie with her fellow bison.

The Buffalo Museum contains a history of buffalo and has displays showing the evolution of the buffalo. There are also Native American artifacts and artwork.

From journal Bismarck. It's a dry cold
