We visited on a Panorama Tours bus from Munich, an easy and convenient way to get there. This was an 8.5-hour excursion at a cost of 53.50 euro per adult; there is a discount with the Munich Welcome Card. The only thing that I did not like was that your time on top of the mountain is limited due to the tour bus schedule. There are other methods of getting there that are a little more complex but afford you a more leisure time.
