Description: One of the first boardwalks of its type in the country, the Atlantic City Boardwalk has been one of the city’s primary draws since it opened in 1870. The boardwalk stretches from the Absecon Inlet along the beach for four miles before terminating at the city limit. The majority of Atlantic City’s hotels and casinos line the boardwalk, as do a host of stores,
restaurants and other amusements. Attractions here include the Boardwalk Hall, the House of Blues and Ripley’s Believe it Or Not! Museum. Only four of the boardwalk’s famed piers survive today, each home to a variety of entertainments like the Pier Shops at Caesars, the Atlantic City Historical museum on Garden Pier and the go-karts, shops and carnival atmosphere on SChiff’s Central Pier.
