For the past two years I have had the pleasure to work for this fundraiser for local breast cancer support. It started out as a music festival with local musicians, expanded to including a 5K, health fair, and parade and now is holding events around Athens year-round. The events are always fun, wacky, and heartwarming. The inspirational founder, Sara O'Brien, started Breastfest after losing her own mother to breast cancer. This event is an opportunity for people in Athens to come support all the women in the community that fight the disease. At the same time, you can take part in enjoying the local talent which can range from opera, bluegrass, pop, R&B, poetry, stand-up comedians, and even trapeze artists. If you go to Athens, check in the free newspaper Flagpole for any upcoming Breastfest events or check their website (if updated) at www.breastfest.org
