The Jordaan is a beautiful quarter of Amsterdam. It has small canals, cobblestone streets, historical buildings and nice little shops and boutiques. The market on the Westerstraat is every Saturday and you can buy anything from Dutch herring, cheeses, fruit and vegetables to clothing.
Around the corner you can find the organic market of the Noordermarkt, where you can also take a little break at one of the terraces or enjoy a nice lunch. It's always wonderful to walk around in this area, even if you live in Amsterdam!
