Albuquerque has city parks known as Open Space parks which are kept in the natural landscape and open for hiking and public use. A treasure of our city, it provides a great, relaxing place to hike (or just stroll) and enjoy the vistas. From one such park (Juan Tabo Picnic Area, off of the northern part of Tramway Blvd.) you can hike on the La Luz trail all the way to the top of Sandia...for the more experienced hikers.
