The last time I was here it was getting a bit out of control with the crowds, they just keep expanding. There is just about every outlet here imaginable though. But a less crowded option is the outlets in Howell, MI and if you in the more western suburbs this is also much closer, just West on I96 between 30 and 60 minutes depending on where you are.

Birch Run is great for the deals. Grab yourself a snack and head up I75 about an hour north to exit 136. They recently opened a Pottery Barn outlet store, and my husband and I can't get enough. Our friends came in from Chicago and insisted we take them up there after they saw the furniture we bought and heard the price we paid.

Besides that, Birch Run has much, much more to offer: whether you need clothes, kitchen items, or things for the kids, they have it all. I highly recommend taking a large van or SUV to pack all your goodies in, as the deals can be so outrageous, you may just end up with more than your car space will allow. Carters has a sale once a year where everything is $5, Coach always has great clearance items, and on the last visit, I got the cutest dress from Coldwater Creek.

The stores go on and on. From what they say, this is the largest outlet mall in the USA. WOW, I had no idea!!
