If you've ever been to a local Renaissance Festival and tasted the mead, then you know what White Winter Winery is all about. For those who have never had the pleasure of a glass of mead, it is a sweet, honey-based wine that is served chilled. White Winter has some of the best mead around, so they are well worth the half-hour trip from Duluth.
White Winter Winery recently moved their facility, and it is much larger now. They offer tours four days a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays) at 11am and 2pm. We did not get a chance to take the tour while we were there, but they still give out free samples to every over 21.
This small winery's shop offers every mead they produce, as well as the cider they make. White Winter is owned by two couples, and all of their wines are made from products from local vendors. They offer a strawberry, blueberry, and raspberry mead, all three of which delight the senses!
Visit the White Winter website for directions. If you are lucky enough to live in one of the states that allows you to have alcohol sent by mail, you can also order bottles online.
