Description: Clissold Park is a great place for a walk - summer or winter. It's an average- sized park, but it's beautiful. There's two small lakes with ducks and other birds which children and adults alike love to wander round. The children's play area is always lively especially on a Sunday. On warm summer days (yes I know that's rare in England!) they fill the children's paddling pool and it comes alive with families who take picnics along.
There are also some tennis courts that can be booked and a five-a-side soccer pitch.
The grassy areas are full on sunny days with families and groups of friends having picnics or individuals soaking up the sun with a good book for company.
The park also has an animal corner: an enclosure of elegant deer, a small group of goats and a small avery.
There's also a crown green bowling club at the park.
At the centre of the park is a large building that was once a private home (well, more of a mansion). At various points this has contained a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating, but the cafe is currently closed.
