Description: This was an interesting place to visit and not a lot of tourists hear about it.
The building has a great architectural style. Completed in 1622 it was the sold survivor of the fire that destroyed Whitehall Palace in 1698.
The Ceiling has paintings by Rubens, a complex series of paintings that were commisioned by Charles I in 1630.
He was executed on a scaffold outside Banqueting Hall in 1649. Charles II celebrated his restoration to the throne 20 years later.
The building is occasionally used for official functions.
