So why would someone come here-- no bathrooms, no concession stands, no parking? Simply put, this is a GORGEOUS, quiet stretch of beach. Because it's in front of a residential neighborhood, it's almost impossible to find a place to park on the weekends, yet it's virtually empty on weekdays. You feel like you have the beach to yourself (and, yes, there are lifeguards during the week). Another plus is the view: in addition to the usual beauty of the ocean, this beach affords a horizon of sailboats that are coming and going from the harbor just south of the beach. This is my favorite weekday beach in LA. Free parking, no crowds, and beautiful views... paradise!
To get here, from the 405, take Washington Boulevard west all the way to the ocean and turn left on the last street. From Santa Monica, take Ocean Avenue through Venice and past Washington Boulevard.
