Visible from almost anywhere in the city is the gleaming white statue of Christ. Tourists and locals can access the statue by climbing a series of 10,000 steps cut into the mountain, or pay less than $1.50 roundtrip to take the cablecar to the top.

The statue welcomes saints and sinners alike, standing arms outstretched in welcome against the majestic and awe inspiring Andes mountains. The view from the mountain top is breathtaking, not only the panoramic view of the city, but the 360 degree surroundings of the mountain itself.
