What other City & University actually allocate a decent budget to cleaning up toilet paper from their streets? It's a tradition in the fall and during winning seasons for the locals and fans to gather downtown at the corner of College St & Magnolia to toss, hurl or throw rolls of TP into the trees as a celebration for a win. Thousands of fans make up a sea of people having fun while recapping great plays on the field and the victory.
Note: Why toilet paper? Not many people know why Auburn people do this but it dates back to the days of no cell phones, no internet or not much communications at all. The local telegraph office was downtown and the operator would hear of an away game win and take his left over scrap paper and throw it in the trees downtown to tell people of the victory!
