We rode up to the top of the cliff on little individual seats that were pulled up the hillside like rollercoaster cars on a track. They’re not actually cars because they don’t have sides on them. It was a little scary because there’s nothing holding you in but a little strap and you just keep getting higher and higher. We bought a round-trip ticket so we could ride the little cars back down also.
On the top of the cliff is a large statue commemorating the legend. But the real reason to go to the top is the spectacular view. All of Sanya City is spread out below, nestled between the mountains and the ocean. You can watch the tiny fishing boats going in and out.
When we finally got tired of the view, we rode the little cars back down. Only this time they hooked them all together and it was a little roller coaster ride. I still think it was scary because there were no sides on the cars! If you’re not up to the roller coaster ride, I’m sure there are other ways to get up and back. I think vehicles are allowed to a certain point and you can always do it on foot. I don’t know how much the whole thing cost, but I think admission to the park itself is Y30.
