Description
Bohpay Phnom is a wooded riverside area with a number of attractions making it a popular family picnic spot. From the parking area, an old wooden footbridge crosses the river and takes you to a colorful temple. Here there are a multitude of curious monkeys and an elephant driver who gives tours of the area for around USD2 per hour. A signpost near the Wat marks the way to a wooden hut filled with human bones, a disturbingly raw memorial to victims of the Pol Pot regime. Busses for Kompong Spue depart regularly from Phnom Penh's Central Market.
