Since I am usually in Guadalajara with a group of American High School students, I pick this mall as our meeting point. Too many times I've had to wait for late students...I guess we were all young once, and time was meaningless. Anyhow, since Centro Magno was built and I've chosen it as a meeting place, I don't mind the students' delays as much. The café on the second level serves the best espresso in the city! The internet cafe in the same location also allows me to update worried parents.
If you're in Guadalajara, check out this plaza, but don't neglect the others: La Gran Plaza (it's name speaks for itself...all major US merchandise; also located on Vallarta) and La Plaza del Sol (located on Lopez Mateos). These Plazas are very cosmopolitian. For the more Mexican market you need to head downtown to El Mercado de San Juan de Dios. It's a giant flee market with plenty of food vendors.
