A historical hub and catalyst of culture, Buenos Aires is packed with attractions that are sure to impress even the most discerning tourist.

If you want to see everything, but you're not sure where to start, try one of the Buenos Aires Free Tours and sample the city on foot on the City Tour or the Aristocratic Tour. If you're feeling energized the Urban Running Tour will quickly transport you to all of the cities top destinations including the famous Plaza de Mayo, the heart city's government and political history.

From there you can catch your breath and stroll down Avenida de Mayo to the Palacio del Congreso home to the legislative branch of Argentinian government. The impressive structure is modeled after the Capiol Building and is usually abuzz with activity. For more of Argentinian history, a weekend in the prestigious neighborhood of Recoleta will give you plenty of time to visit the Recoleta Cemetary (Cementerio de la Recoleta), a treasure trove of history and architecture. Among the cemetary's 6,400 ornate tombs and mausoleums is the final resting place of Argentinian icon, Eva Peron.

For a livelier time, savor the city's cultural offerings at Museo National de Bellas Artes and Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires where you'll find everything from Picasso and Rodin to rarely seen works by native artists.

For more affordable local arts and handicrafts that you can take home, spend a weekend in Telmo where the bargains abound at the flea markets in Telmo.
