Read More In recent years, tourism in Russia has become increasingly popular. Rightly so, as there are numerous things to do and see while on vacation in this country. Sightseeing is common due to the many palaces and cathedrals throughout Russia. The Hermitage, the largest museum in Russia, provides the largest collection of paintings in the world and is a popular destination among tourists. Another common place to visit while vacationing in Russia is the Red Square in Moscow. Walking tours are a favorite among Igougo members, and are available throughout many of the cities in Russia such as Peter’s walking tours in St. Petersburg.

The nightlife of Russia is another reason that many flock to this country. Russian Ballet is world-renowned and has spawned many ballet companies around the nation. The theatre and opera are two more ideas for a night out on the town.

Russia also proves to be a great place for outdoor activities . Resort cities such as Sochi (host of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games) are popular for both skiing in the mountains and for its Black Sea beaches. Lake Baikal, a famous body of water in south Siberia, is both the oldest and deepest lake in the world and draws many outdoors-minded travelers from across the globe. Close
